2020: Year of The Nurses and Midwife Nurses

Hear from two of our local nurses part of the Black community, President of San Diego Black Nurses Association Samantha Gambles and SDBNA COVID Task Force Chief Samantha Williams. Making Black History Today: Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett

Research fellow and the scientific lead for the Coronavirus Vaccines & Immunopathogenessis Team at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett’s team designed the vaccine concept for Covid and deployed it to Moderna, Inc.

Dr. Corbett has 15 years of expertise studying dengue virus, respiratory virus, influenza virus, and coronaviruses. Besides her research, Dr. Corbett is an active member of NIH Fellows Committee and an avid advocator of STEM education and vaccine awarenesses in the community.
